hi.

sorry reply so late.

this system is Arch , and his libc6 is 2.7
so in his system reslov is
 /lib/libresolv.so.2 ->libresolv-2.7.so*

when he ./configure , it get result:

checking for dn_skipname... no
checking for dn_skipname in -lresolv... no
checking for dn_skipname in -lbind... no
checking for dn_skipname in -lresolv (alternate version)... yes
checking for res_query... no
checking for res_query in -lresolv... no
checking for res_query in -lbind... no
checking for res_query in -lresolv (alternate version)... no
checking whether to enable debug... no
checking for ANSI C header files... (cached) yes

the res_query -- no. so the code in dns.cpp line 81 in 0.9.5.1

#if defined( HAVE_RES_QUERYDOMAIN ) && defined( HAVE_DN_SKIPNAME ) &&
defined( HAVE_RES_QUERY )

not work, and run to
logInstance.warn( LogAreaClassDns, "notice: gloox does not support SRV "
                        "records on this platform. Using A records
                        instead."

does you hava any methods to fix it ?

thanks.

hi,all

        does the gloox support the 64bit linux system now ?

        my friend use 64bit pc,
        he run the gloox/src/example/message_example , then follow is
        information:

         [wind@black examples]$ ./message_example
         log: level: 1, area: 32, notice: gloox does not support SRV
         records on this platform. Using A records instead.
         log: level: 1, area: 32, notice: no SRV record found for
         gmail.com, using default port.

It sure does and always did. The warning above indicates that that system does not support SRV records which prevents gloox from finding out that, say, foo.com hosts its jabber/xmpp service on jabber.foo.com.

What operating system/gloox version is this?

cheers,
Jakob
